100% Tharapsathiri, a Cretan variety that is increasingly being considered as it resists drought conditions.  It is less aromatic than other Cretan varieties but its mineral notes and low pH also help it age well.  The 'Armi' vineyard in central Crete is north-facing at 480m.  Lyrarakis' grower partner Lefteris Moisakis carved this vineyard out of a steep and rocky hillside. 'Armi' means top of a hill.   This vintage was marked by three harvests, based on berry sensory assessment, beginning on August 22 and concluding on September 15. After a 2-hour skin contact, 47% of the free-run juice was fermented in 500lt old oak barrels, where it matured for about 3 months, while the rest was fermented in inox tank
