"La Totora is a block of just under half a hectare (3,500 square meters of vines), planted about 1,550 meters above sea level in Paraje Hilario. It is a pergola vineyard that Francisco Bugallo estimates must be at least 100 years old. From there, criolla chica (about 1,500–1,700 kilos a year) has been selected for this wine since 2017. Although we've had our eye on this since the 2021 vintage, this version is already beginning to show a new dimension of the variety, a stye that's completely different from all the other listán prietos that we at Descorchados have tried over the years. It has a pale, almost orange color, the fruity aromas combine with herbal notes, the palate is light yet also strongly marked by fine, intense tannins, and the acidity is juicy. A wine of great finesse that we think takes the variety to another level."
