Pinot Noir Johan Vineyard

2022

Pinot Noir from the biodynamically farmed Johan Vineyard in the Van Duzer Corridor AVA. The site is planted on marine sedimentary soils with Missoula Flood deposits and experiences strong wind pressure through the Van Duzer Gap due to its close proximity to the coast. This cooling influence creates a long growing season, allowing the Pinot Noir to ripen relatively late while retaining high natural acidity. The fruit was fermented with 30% whole clusters and aged for 22 months in a combination of French oak barrels and puncheons (20% new). Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
