A blend of seven different vineyards located north of Nuits-Saint-Georges (towards Vosne-Romanée). The vines average 50 years old. Vinified with whole clusters and aged in oak barrels.

From a half hectare plot planted in 1972 and 1995. Fermented in open vats for 25-30 days and aged in barrel (20% new) for 12 months.  

Nine parcels totaling nearly 5 acres whose vines average 41 years old.

From 1 acre whose vines date back to 1963. This vineyard grows north of Pommard, on the shoulder above the Epenots vineyard; the wine is notable for its spice, balance, and length.

Four parcels—Cras, Poisots, Saussilles and Vaumuriens—totaling 3 acres with the vines averaging 54 years old.

Clos Saint-Pierre is a monopole of Domaine Thénard. The vineyard faces east and is higher up on the hill than the Cellier aux Moines and has a very red soil, rich in iron. After fermentation in large open top wooden fermenters, the wine is aged half in wooden foudres and half in used oak barrels.  ...

The majority of the fruit comes from a parcel called Concis du Champs and a small part comes from Les Buttes. It's structured and the most tannic of the reds from the Bachelet brothers. The tannins give support to the dark fruit and floral minerality on the palate. Aged for 24 months in barrel.

Planted in 1956, along the east wall of the Clos, minimal slope, rocky soils with more clay. Aged in barrel (approximately 30% new oak). 50% whole cluster fermentation.    Very limited.

From a one hectare parcel planted in 1980, just at the border of village level Fixin with a deep limestone soil and marl. It's destemmed and fermented in cement. Aged for 18 months in barrels (no new oak)

From a half a hectare parcel called Combe de Dessus, which sits below the Clos des Chezeaux, which is below Cazetiers. Fully destemmed. Made with approximately 20% new oak.

Berthaut has a tiny .21 hectare parcel of vines planted in the 1930's in the areas called Quartier de Nuits and Treux. Aged in approximately one third new oak. 60% whole cluster fermentation.  Very limited.

From a 1.6 hectare parcel named Concoeur, on the plateau between Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges. Planted by grandfather 60 years ago.  Fully destemmed. Fermented in cement and aged in foudres for 14 months total.  

A co-ferment of Pinot Noir (83%), Grüner Veltliner (10%), and Syrah (7%). The fruit is sourced from Zenith Vineyard in Eola-Amity Hills AVA, as well as Havlin Vineyard in the Van Duzer Corridor AVA. Nine months in stainless steel and neutral oak. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

100% Pinot Noir, farmed biodynamically, from a single vineyard. The vines are 15 years old, and grow in granitic soils at just over 1,000 feet elevation. Aged and fermented completely in concrete egg. Dark ripe cherry and black fruits jump out of the glass with underlying raspberry fruit notes. A...
